Gordon R. Diller, 67, passed away August 5, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Gordon was born December 6, 1950 in Pandora to the late Roger and Marjorie (Gratz) Diller. On December 21, 1985 he married Jodi Lugibihl Diller who survives.
Gordon graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and then served in the U.S. Navy. Gordon attended Bluffton College and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1977. He was a funeral director at Halteman-Fett-Dyer Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio following graduation. Gordon then purchased Haas-Diller Funeral Home in Pandora. He passionately and proudly served families at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Bluffton from 1989 until the present. He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora and past member of the Bluffton Lions Club. Professionally, Gordon was a member of the Ohio Funeral Director’s Association, the National Funeral Director’s Association and the Ohio Embalmer’s Association. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, community choral performances and with the Riley Creek Singers. In his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed watching the birds from his sun room, Butler Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds.
Survivors also include three daughters, Erin (Ryan) Diller Suderman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sarah Diller of Chicago, Illinois, Liz (Jesse) Suter of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Luke and Mara Suderman; a brother, John (Tam) Diller of Pandora; three sisters, Marie (Aubrey) Henderson of Pandora, Kathleen (Art) Shank of Benton Ridge, Joanna (Jeff) Kantner of Bluffton and his mother in law, Millie Lugibihl of Pandora.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father in law, Roy Lugibihl.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora. Pastor Matthew Yoder officiating. Private burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Pandora. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. & Friday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Bluffton.
